Esther
Esther came to Jericho and she was 11 years old. Her mother had abandoned the family to live in Mexico. Her grandmother and many aunts, uncles and cousins all lived in extreme poverty. So her grandmother sent her to the city to work as a maid. Esther dreamed of going to school. Thankfully the Director of Jericho saw her at an adult church Bible Study where she was sitting on the back pew alone. After hearing her story, she was immediately invited to live and study at Jericho. Esther has excelled at Jericho and is currently studying psychology at the university. She wants to minister to others in difficult circumstances.
