María del Carmen
Carmen is from a mountain community that is proverb stricken. Young girls are expected to keep house and often work the coffee fields. She was living with her grandmother because her mother was unable to care for her. She came to Jericho with her aunt in 2017. She currently lives in a family house with her aunt, half sister, and five other young women from her village. Carmen loves art and would like to study graphic arts at a university in the future.
