Nelva
Nelva comes from a region of Honduras where young girls are expected to clean their home and care for their siblings. Getting an education is not a priority due to extreme poverty. Adolescent girls typically go work the coffee fields or sell tortillas to locals. Nelva took care of her two-year-old brother and cooked for her family. She is extremely happy living at the Villa. She loves school, is a quick learner and adores her friends.
